Privacy Policy

Effective 6 September 2026.

This policy describes how the GY Tools software ("the software") handles data, including Google user data accessed through the Gmail API. The software is operated by a single individual (the "owner") for personal use only. There are no other users.

1. What data is accessed

With the owner's authorization via Google OAuth, the software requests the gmail.readonly scope and reads email messages in the owner's own Gmail mailbox that match a label the owner configured. It reads message content, headers, and Gmail metadata (message identifiers and receipt timestamps). It does not access other Google services.

2. How the data is used

Message content is used solely to extract structured information (for example dates, symbols, and numbers contained in the messages) for the owner's private record-keeping and analysis. The software does not use the data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than the owner's personal use.

3. Where the data is stored

All data is stored locally on the owner's own computer and the owner's own private backup media. Google user data is not uploaded to any third-party server or cloud service. Derived structured records may be kept in the owner's private, access-controlled source repository; the original message content is not.

4. Sharing

Google user data is not shared with, sold to, or transferred to any third party, and is not used by any artificial-intelligence or machine-learning model, whether generalized or otherwise. The only exception is disclosure required by law.

5. Retention and deletion

Data is retained for as long as the owner finds it useful for personal record-keeping. The owner may delete stored data at any time. Revoking the application's access at myaccount.google.com/permissions immediately stops all further access.

6. Limited Use disclosure

The software's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

7. Security

OAuth credentials and tokens are stored only on the owner's computer, excluded from any code repository, and protected by the operating-system account and full-disk encryption.
